Maye Musk, the mother of tech billionaire Elon Musk, recently launched the Hindi translation of her memoir A Woman Makes a Plan at an event in Mumbai. The Hindi version is titled Jab Aurat Sochti Hai and has been brought out in partnership with Rajkamal Prakashan.
The launch was extra special as it also marked Maye’s 77th birthday. She celebrated the occasion with her Indian publishers and close friends.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Maye wrote, “So thrilled to celebrate my birthday with the release of my Hindi book in Mumbai. Thank you, Rajkamal Books!”

She shared a series of pictures from the event, where she posed with the Hindi edition and smiled brightly next to a large birthday cake decorated with flowers and the number “77.”
Earlier that day, Maye had also posted a photo of a bouquet sent by her son, Elon Musk. She captioned it, “Thank you, Elon, for the gorgeous birthday flowers sent all the way to Mumbai. Love, m.”
During her Mumbai visit, Maye embraced Indian traditions by visiting the Siddhivinayak Temple on Easter Sunday. She was accompanied by Bollywood star Jacqueline Fernandez. Both took part in temple rituals and were blessed by the priests. For the visit, Maye wore a yellow printed suit.
Maye Musk’s book, first released in 2019 in English, shares her life story — from her struggles and hard work to her rise as a successful model and nutritionist. In her memoir, she writes about balancing motherhood and career, facing hardships, and never giving up. Through personal stories and advice, the book encourages readers, especially women, to stay strong and plan their own futures. The Hindi edition hopes to inspire even more people across India.
Speaking about the book, Jacqueline Fernandez said, “Maye’s story shows that dreams don’t have an expiry date. It’s a huge inspiration for all of us.”
Meanwhile, Elon Musk is expected to visit India later this year, ahead of Tesla’s planned launch in the country.
